Another try with Dark Horse Comics' "PREDATOR - Big Game"
Another try with Dark Horse Comics' "PREDATOR - Big Game"
Well... I remember getting this comic when I was a young 12 or so year old and man was it a trip down memory lane... AND a big improvement story-wise over "Concrete Jungle". No more over-the-top 'action' to titillate the intellects of 8 year olds thanks to the writer limiting the story to a single predator. However the predator still goes gung-ho killing over a dozen soldiers in one scene that last a minute - not terribly suspenseful (I think perhaps suspense is lost in comics? I'm hoping to be proven wrong).
Nevertheless it was fairly decent (although again, real foolish actions by the main character OUT of character just to push the plot along). Thankfully I didn't notice any overabundance of borrowing from the old films so that was another plus.
All in all I'd give it 3/5 stars.

As far as spirituality is concerned, once again this isn't a terribly redeeming story although there's the moral of "doing the right thing" I suppose...
...There WAS a moment where a 'medicine man' (aka: an occultist) was doing a 4 day fast to fend of "witches" which is a sadly mistaken means of battling demonic forces. Interestingly enough the Navajo mythology apparently contains a battle of gods where the bad deity has horns... No kidding. Whether the devil really has horns or not, I can't say from Scripture at the moment, BUT the image of Baphomet believed to be his icon certainly does.
Thanks all for stopping by. Feel free to follow me on Twitch.tv to see more geeky goodness!
Past VODs are all at the YouTube channel I linked to above.
And I also hope your conscience towards God has been stirred. You can ask Him questions at a website I'm still constructing - www.HeHasAnswers.com - and even read what I've written thus far regarding the irrefutable evidence of His existence.
God bless you and good night!
